This Scratch Away SAW195 Polisher is perfect for polishing surfaces such as powder coat, plastic surfaces, epoxy, gelcoat, Polyurethane-based 2-component lacquer etc. All these materials are without clear coat and extremely delicate to obtain a uniform high gloss surface.

How does the Scratch Away SAW195 work?

Due to the eccentric multi-orbit-per-rotation polishing movements, the entire polishing pad will have the same speed over the complete polishing surface. The backing plate follows an orbit (the amplitude of which depends on the distance between the rotation axis of the drive shaft and the central axis of the backing plate) and is free to rotate about its own central axis.

The backing plate is free to rotate at varying velocities and directions by effect of the centrifugal force of the offset movement and by effect of friction. Should the friction forces be such as to prevent rotation of the disc while the tool is still operating, the eccentric multi-orbit-per-rotation movement would simply become an orbital movement.

The number of disc rotations is variable and independent of the number of orbits performed. The eccentric multi-orbit-per-rotation movement is at present the best compromise in terms of effectiveness in surface treatment quality. This avoids excessive heat input and repeating movements, which benefits the final outcome of your renovation endresult.
